Advertising sales trainer Tim Smith is offering Missouri newspapers the opportunity to participate in a monthly advertising training series.
The Advertising Sales Training will focus on sales training, from outside display, inside sales reps to the classified department. Each module will be one hour and will be repeated at various times during each month on a Thursday and Friday at 9 a.m. You may participate at your desk or in a conference room with your staff. You will need a phone and, ideally a computer
Smith will offer the session twice each month, on a Thursday or Friday, for one hour. If you cannot make either session, he will arrange a separate time to conduct the session with you. Each session can be accessed by your entire staff or just key people — that is entirely up to you.
Some of the monthly topics will include: Sales by the Numbers, Time and Territory Management, Prospecting that Pays, Staying Positive, The Eight Steps to a Sales Presentation, Handling Objections, How to Out Service the Competition, Developing Marketing Campaigns.
The cost to each newspaper is $35 per month. The series will run from April through December. Participating newspapers must commit to the series for full nine months. Missouri Press can deduct $35 each month from your newspaper's advertising check or you may pay the full $315 at the start of the series.
